Expert and respected mediation in disputes between the militia and the government, between tribes, and over land and resources.

KENYA: DEKHA IBRAHIM ABDI (FORMER CHAMPIONS PROJECT)
She set out to make her local market place safe. She ended up stopping a war. Her determination, tact, bravery and diplomacy brought stability to a part of Kenya ravaged by a four decade cycle of violence.

Communities across Northern Kenya know they can call on the team to check conflict before it gets out of control.

SUDAN: COLLABORATIVE PROJECT
Local peace organisations from North, South, Central Sudan and Darfur, working together to make the Comprehensive Peace Agreement a reality.

SOMALIA: ASHA HAJI ELMI (ONE OFF GRANT)
Known as the 'Lioness of Somalia' and a consistent advocate for peace, Asha brought women into the Somali Parliament.
